About Me

I am a transdisciplinary writer, educator, textile artist and curator with a special interest in deformations, translations and cross-polinations. The textual and the textile, and furthermore their root "texere": to weave, to plait, to construct with elaborate care, make me passionate about the possibilities of the precarious. Paper and threads have been lost to history as they decompose. I want to write through these absences of memory, of time, of language. To make slowly and build art and community. I sometimes believe I am more a curator than a writer, including within curation also editing, and in a world with evermore information, websites (jaja) and eventually broken links, I believe in the radical acts of curation and care.

I studied Sociology and Math at the undergraduate level at Columbia University and hold an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from CalArts as well as teaching training courses from universities in Colombia.

My professional experience ranges from education and social research, to art and writing. I am an experienced English and Critical Studies teacher, having taught and designed curriculums at the secondary and university levels. I have also worked in education from a sociological perspective, as a project manager at different educational institutions. I have edited and curated personal and group projects and events, for which I have been awarded funding and residencies.

My writing has appeared in different literary magazines and blogs and my first book is forthcoming in 2025 with the Spanish publishing house Valparaíso. It was awarded the National Prize in poetry for Unpublished Work in Colombia in 2024, awarded by Tertulia Literaria. The textile art I make is mostly worn or used as banners, but has also been displayed in a gallery and an online database.

I am currently working in a few different writing and editing projects but I'm glad to collaborate in any of these areas. If you want to read a more detailed CV/Résumé, you can download them below.
